Filling:
Mingle the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt together.
Put aside.
Dough:
Put the flour, sugar, yeast, salt and cardamom in the bowl of your KitchenAid.
Beat the egg together with the milk and heat until it is lukewarm.
Then add the milk to the dry ingredients in the KitchenAid and let the machine do the work.
It's important to knead for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes add the butter piece by piece and knead for again 15 minutes. (stand 2 on the KitchenAid)
Now let the dough rise for 1 hour minimum in a bowl covered with plastic foil.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a large rectangle. Pour on the cinnamon filling and roll it into a big sausage.
Then slice 10 to 12 pieces out of it (2 fingers thick) and put on an ovenplate covered with a baking sheet.
Let it rest for half an hour, or if you can't wait, for 10 minutes (like I did).
Shove the plate into a preheated oven of 180 degrees and bake for 15 minutes.
Serve lukewarm with a little bit of honey on the side and enjoy!
Thanks to my Norwegian Italian bestie :-)
Buon Appetito!
