Epiphany pie

Tagliatelle Parma


    • 2 sheets of puff pastry
    • 100 g of almond powder
    • 70 g of sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 50 g of butter
    • 1 splash of cream
    • a few drops of almond exctract
    • 1 egg yolk for the shiny topping
    • Apricot jam for the topping


 Put one sheet of puff pastry on an oven plate and pre-heat your oven at 200 degrees. 

Mingle all ingredients together in a jar. Spread the almond cream on the puff pastry and gently place the other sheet of puff pastry on top of it. 
Don't forget to put a bean inside!

Make some tiny holes to let the pie "breathe" in the oven. 
Cover with an egg yolk and place in the oven for approx. 30 minutes. 

Once the pie has cooled down, top with a little bit of apricot jam. 

Now it's time to slice the pie and discover who will be King or Queen for one day. Luckily for us my daughter turned out to be Queen. Wouldn't have want to see what would have happened if she didn't "win"! ;-)
